I have been reading your blog and reports in The Citizen and it struck me that it is presented as if it is something new!
My children (3) left Madras some years ago (the last 4) and even then, when at Kilrymont the building was in a dreadful state; leaking roofs and revolting toilets. Even then children used to use friends loos at lunchtime rather than venture into the Kilrymont ones! It was also hopelessly overcrowded
I could go on obviously but it does seem to escape the authorities that if a school is comfortable, pleasantly decorated, spacious and has clean and good facilities children will actually like going there and in consequence work and behave better. The same for the staff who need to work in good conditions. This is not what is happening at the moment!
This problem is at least 7 or 8 years old.
sincerely,
A.S.Edwards.
